I'm thinking about doing something about my wasted suspension, Definitely putting skyjacker springs on front(2" leveling), maybe new ones on rear too, but probably going to hold off on that. What shocks are people having good luck with? It will have the 2" leveling springs, 285/75-16 all terrains on 16x8 rims. I'm thinking Rancho??? The truck gets used on road, mostly empty miles.

I'm running the skyjacker softride nitro shocks and have had good luck with them in the past on other trucks. I had a truck with rancho shocks and they were wore out in probably 40,000 miles, and I mean completely. I know that's a lot of miles for shocks, but the skyjackers were still tight after that many miles.

I did the skyjacker front springs, and ran it a day or so waiting for the new skyjacker shocks. The ride was very nice with OEM shocks, but they were too short. I installed the skyjackers, and the ride got very bad, very stiff..... I was dissappointed. This was 6 years ago, they may have changed shocks... ...

Right now on the truck, I am running rancho's 5 position adjustable shocks. They have been working fine for me. The front ones I never adjust, but I adjust the rears, 1 for empty ride, and 3-4-5 for loaded travels. Its just a pain getting under the truck to adjust them every time I hook to my trailer. You can get a gauge set and hoses, and adjust them in cab. Dunno what else is entailed in that project.

FWIW, I've read many posts like the above about Bilsteins, and thats probably what I will try next. Just remember, on my truck anyway, stock length shocks on the front were too short with the new springs. At full extension they barely slipped on the shock mount.

I installed the Skyjacker Soft Ride shocks on my truck about a week and half ago. Sure beats the OEM shocks, I don't think the previous owners ever changed them. :--)
