Hey Guys,

I want to purchase a compleate W350 front axle. I can only find one with 190,000 on it. Is there anything to watch for? Good buy for $1000? Pass on it because of mileage?

What normally goes on the Dana 60F?

Thanks, Robert

I dont' know that I'd call that a "good buy" more like average to a little high depending on condition. Have you seen it??? Has it had any work done lately or has it been sitting in a wrecking yard for a year?? I'd try to find out when the last brake job was done, rotors within spec?? have the rotors/calipers been replaced?? If it is a complete rust ball I'd either get the price down or pass, if it came out of a recently operating vehicle than it may be worth the $$ based on supply/demand in your area.

Is this for your crew? If so, did you give up on trying to find hubs? I would sooner use what you have since you know what it is and that it works. In my area, that kind of money would be reserved for a high pinion 60.

Travis. .

Yes it is for the crew. And yes I have given up on trying to find compleate hubs. The vihicle is in Tennessee and it was driven there and left 9 days ago. Apperantly the guy had some rear end issues (from what I gather extensive rear brakes to be exact). It is compleate, it is still even in the truck and it comes with everything right down to the chrome lug nuts. I am not too woried about getting a new axle, although I would prefer lower mileage. The front axle from the current crew will eventually end up in the 90 when I finish the crew.

Sounds like a good buy to me, since it's from a running driving truck. I would go ahead and do a king pin rebuild (both sides), new bearings and seals with that many miles.
