I am considering mounting a pair of WAAG Kickout Bars on a 2001, 3500 4X4. Has anyone had any experience with these? One big question I have is: Will they be low enough from the floor of the truck to act as a step, or will they just be in the way? Due to a disability, the step would be very handy. I would appreciate any input.

Best things I have ever bought!! (Well next to the cup smoothy). They match the lines perfectly. 6 years later and they are juuuust showing some rust under the powder coat.

in this pic you can see how far down I have them set:

Step or slide out of seat?

Tim, it looks like you have a couple of inches of lift on that beauty! My stock height white '01 3500 is looking closely at those WAAGS also.

Question? When you exit your truck do you step out onto these or slide out over the top of them?

How about getting in? Do you find yourself using them each time or jumping up on occasion and landing like a gymnast in the seat?

My foam seat cushion is really worn under the leather from all the sliding in and out. The carpet pad fix between the wires only helped marginally.

Hmm Let's see if I can do this.

Not Firestones ... BFG's

I use them on ocaision on entry/exit. I really use them as I am in and out of my toolbox ALOT and the kickouts are a huge help.

The truck has only a leveling kit.

They mount to the frame via massive j hooks that cantileever aginst themselves and gargantuan nuts. The forwards use the body mount and the mid bar also uses the frame rail. ... no pinch welds. I am a click above the 225 lbs and they hold no problems. .

I thought you had BFG's, just some strange thing made them catch my eye as Firestones. The sidewall, and the tread I guess.

Beware

Love the look but beware the warranty. First thing I put on when I bought the truck 8 monthes ago, noticed while cleaning last month I have rust coming through the powder coat. Factory says ship them back and they will re-powder them. " AT MY EXPENSE OF COURSE " Not happy with that, priced Line-Xing them the other day. Hopefully we can work something out. :-{} ;)

I use them to get in and out of the truck and the tool box, could use abit more toe room, but believe I can adjust them some, if I ever get around to it. :)
