I've been driving my new 07. 5 for a week now and have never seen the "wait to start" icon. Even though warm weather is here, I would have expected to see the indicator light at least early in the morning. The manual says light may not come on if oil temp is high enough. Always starts fine, but I turn the key on and wait a minute or so just to be a good diesel jockey. Seems strange. Anyone else having the same experience??

The 5. 9 is the same way my heater never comes on below 70

what he said

i do think you're wasting your time waiting if the lamp is not on... ... i don't think the grids are lighting up if your wts light isn't... . at least that's the way my 5. 9 is.

was about 2 weeks in mine before i saw wts come on. then it was OBVIOUS the grids were on according to the ampmeter.

I have had mine for just over a month now and the grid heater light rarely comes on unless it has gotten down to close to 40 degrees the night before. My 98. 5 5. 9 was quiet different in that it would come on everytime I turned the key on, even if I had just recently shut it down.

I've seen it a few times but it extinguishes very quickly each time. If you are not looking directly at the spot, it is easy to miss it.
