There is an open circuit in the intake air temperature circuit. It usually is not the sensor itself but it is a corroded connection. If you look on the intake manifold(drivers side of engine where intake horn comes into), you can find the sensor behind the intake horn. It is the only thing that is tapped in back there with an electrical wire coming out. About 6" from the sensor there is a connector that tends to be corroded. If you just pull it apart and scrape it clean, that usually fixes the problem.
You are not hurting anything by having your truck be this way. It just means that your grids will run for the maximum allowable time everytime. Not to mention the flashing light is annoying.
