2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wait to start not working properly???

hey fellas i have a 1998. 5 ram 2500 24v... when i go to start it, everything on the cluster lights up, except the wait to start light. it will then come on about 10 seconds after everything else goes out??? It will then only light up for a couple seconds??? anybody have any idea What could be going on its really driving me crazy!
