wait to start

hey guys iam new to tdr and it is awesome ive owned 95 99 04 and now 06 its inter here and my wait to start light only comes on once in the morning every time ishut off and start again no light not even a bulb check all my other trucks the light came on everytime i would resart even if just for a second thanks for your info

Its normal. If the truck is at a good temp the light just doesnt come on. First thing in the morning is about the only time i ever see the light.

I rarely wait for the light when I start the '98 up in the morning- I just turn the key on and start cranking. Always starts right off with little to no smoke. I figure I'm saving wear & tear on the heater, battery and alternator.

If it's under 30F and I haven't plugged in for the night then I'll wait 5 seconds . . . if I'm not in a hurry.

I'm with Vaughn on this too. The grid is for sub freezing temps. Very hard on the batteries

I always wait for the, "wait to start light". I feel it's safer to do so.

I checked with the techs at the dealership about that exact thing. They said it was normal ops. I have owned a few other diesels and always got the wait to start light, but in the 06 it is temp dependent...
