ATS parts service?
Hello all
Little brother ordered an ATS t/c and v/b, and a #6 plate for his 98 auto. When the parts got here, there was a broken part on the v/b. A call to ATS suggested he simply swap parts from the new v/b to his old one, if it was in his ability. Even if it was, he chose to have them ship another new one. So would I, why pay that much money to, in effect, buy some springs you put in yourself? Especially in a "dirty" v/b, instead of a nice clean shiny one.
Problem is, this was 2 weeks ago, and the v/b isnt here yet, and some of the phone calls havent been returned. I hope this is rare for ATS, as they are getting good feedback here on the list. I do realize that shipping parts is different than doing the work in their own shop. They have no control over how things are handled when out of their hands, and no blame is pointed toward them for the damage. Its just that the truck is down until the parts get here, and he is starting to get impatient, hopefully unnecessarily. He also elected to wait for the new v/b to show up before he ships the broken one back to them, so I understand how ATS is "waiting for parts" too.
Also, he ordered the #6 for the auto engine, but the replacement engine is a 215 out of a 5 spd. When he asked ATS about this, before the parts were shipped, he said ATS told him the 6 would still be fine, so the 6 was shipped. I asked about a 6 on a 215 pump already on a separate thread, and because of the high EGT comments I suggested he send it back and get an 11, what do you guys think?
Besides, I almost have him talked into Utah Dyno on the 15th, cant go if the truck dont got no transmission
