Waking up tired!!!!

Why is it, you go to bed get a good nights sleep and actually wake up more tired and sleepy then when you went to bed????

I hat it when this happens. :mad: :{ :mad:

I know if I get too much sleep I feel like crap all day. Why is that? I go on an average of 4-5 hours a day of sleep, seems to be right where I need, but if by chance on a rare occasion, I get more than 6 hours, I feel like I've been run over by a train.

I guess it's better to feel like you've slept all night and it has only been 2 hours than to feel like you slept two hours after 6-8 hours. I have been having trouble getting to sleep, then trouble getting out of bed come morning, myself. I just HATE that. Maybe if I quit reading Edgar Allen Poe beofre going to bed..... :rolleyes:



I feel like crap if I get too much sleep, too; but if I dont get enough, I start to get real edgy and p!ssy after about 4 short nights in a row. It's a fine line to toe.

You're probably waking up in the middle of a sleep cycle. It might be a little different for others, but for me, I get the best rest if my sleep can be evenly divided by 40 minute cycles. In other words, 8 hours of sleep is 12 cycles. If I wake up at 7 and a half hours of sleep then I'm a quarter into the 12th cycle - then I'm really groggy.
 
i try and be in bed by 11:00pm now that i am on dayshift for a little while, and my alarm is going off at 6:30am and i am tired as anything in the morning. now when i was working afternoon shift, i was going to bed at 3:00am and waking up at 9:00am and not tired at all...
 
You probably aren't sleeping as soundly as you think. I snore a lot and wake myself up continuously, and I usually feel worse in the morning. I've heard that taking a night time pain medication like Excedrin PM helps. No caffeine after 6pm is another thing that's supposed to help.
 
Ya gotta have the deep sleep. And don't watch anything that gets you all worked up good or bad before it's time to turn in. I like to run a box fan to drown out my own tenitis and the occasional noise outside like dogs and boomboxes. Garlic causes me to have weird dreams and lousy sleep. One shot of Black Velvet in a glass of ice water helps me sleep good. Don't take your troubles to bed with you. You can't solve them in your sleep anyhow. Have some coffee in the morning but absolutely NO caffeine after 2:00pm. If you can afford a mortgage sized truck, you can afford a decent bed and pillow. Don't cheap out there because it doesn't have chrome. :D

Can you say Sleep Athena (spelling) He!! I got it and cant spell it . Thats what the Doctor has told me I got and I fill that way all the time . I went to the Hospital and spent the night with all kinds of wires hook'd up on me . They wanted me to come back and do it again but with a C- Pap machine ( spelling again ) but my insurance screwed the bill up and I already have the machine that I got from another company but I have tried to use it but I cannot sleep with a vacuum machine hose tied to my face .

Caffeine has no affect on me, I can drink coffee, mountain dew, any soft drink and with or without it makes no difference on me how much sleep I get.





One shot of Black Velvet in a glass of ice water helps me sleep good.



Now, if you can drink a shot every day without developing a dependency on it, now were talking. :D

No I don't have that, Its just waking up tired. If I could wake up the way I feel when I go to bed Id be alright. I guess I'm just not a morning person. After being up a few hours I feel pretty good, its just the getting my a$$ in gear in the morning. :( :eek: :rolleyes: :confused:

I guess I'm lucky. Most nights my head hits the pillow and I don't open my eyes again till morning. 7-8 hours solid is not a problem. I never go beyond that though. I spring out of bed wander into my home office and am working with 2 minutes of waking up. Lately I've been swamped and working 6 am to about midnight taking breaks for meals and what not.

My wife on the other hand can go to bed at 8 pm sleep till 10 am and still wake up tired. She has tried a natural supplement called melotonin (sp?) it worked after about 3 days of taking it. She started sleeping more soundly and thus didn't need to sleep as long. She still drags her self out of bed every day. You might try some for yourself. It can be found at most pharmacies or GNC type stores.
 
I think the condition is called sleep apnea-- it's when you stop breathing in your sleep and it wakes you up.



The no caffiene idea is wise.



The melatonin is helpful for a lot of people, and it's most commonly used to help overcome jet lag. It helps to reset your internal clock.



I find the biggest reason I can't sleep is that I am fantasizing about Mach 6s, Big Brother/ball bearing twins, etc etc...



I just want an 800hp daily driver that gets 20mpg... is that so wrong???

You do stop breathing but it does not all ways wake you up . They a ask me at the Hospital how much I thought I slept and I told them not much . The Doctor told me I slept more than I thought but I quite breather a bunch of times, way to many he said .
 
I started working swing shift 8 years ago. Before that I drove truck and could roll out of bed every morining at 3-4 am no problem. Now I cant get up before 9 unless someone beats me. Swing shift just kills a body. My rotation goes like this 7 days on, and 2 off.



daylight 7-3, off 2 days

graveyard 11-7, off 2 days

daylight 7-3, off 2 days

night 3-11, off 2 days

then start the vicious cycle all over again.
