I Don't Beleive It!!!!

Who makes their oils? I have used it since day one in most every truck I owed. Still have a 5. 4 gasser in a F-250 that has 330,000 miles with no engine work that we have used this oil since day one. Not to mention other PSD & cummins engines. I figured some reputable oil maker had to be backing this product.

ALL of their BRANDED oils are made for them by different oil Companies, depending on which one gives them the cheapest price, and will put the Walmart label on the bottle for them. In other words, they simply bid it out. At one time they even approached Amsoil Inc. to bottle and label the Amsoil oils for them, but Amsoil Inc. said "NO WAY"! I was informed of this at the last training semiar I attended at Amsoil headquarters.

I've been using the ST 15W-40 "Universal" oil for almost the life of my truck. My Dad got me to use it because that's all he ever used in his tractors. I was real glad to see the toe-to-toe ranking in issue 55 page 14. I have 170K on the odometer.

Not sure who packages the ST oil these days, with the blue jugs and all, but before it appeared to me that Pennzoil-Quaker State did because the jug design and the numeric code pattern stamped on the side of the bottle matched the Pennzoil and Quaker State jugs. It's API rated CI-4 (and CH-4 for my truck); SAE 15W-40; Cummins CES 20078, 20077, 20076.

The short answer... ... the Super Tech performance oils for the most part are made by Shell. Check the MSDS's. The Super Tech oil is made for Walmart by Specialty Oil Company, who intern is owned by Pennzoil, who intern is owned by Shell. Up until recently, they all had the same PO box address in Houston TX. FWIW.

See EMD-Run8... I am running Shell according to CHIEF USA and at a much better price than Rotella.

I change oil way to often to use the expensive oil. Atleast not for my budget

Something is being changed nearly every day or every few days.

I've ran it in my tractor for years with no problems. Wonder if it would smell like Rotella in the truck. That might tell more about it. Our local wally world has it for 7. 68 or so and the Rotella T is 8. 88 a gallon. I use the Rotella in the truck but might use the super tech if I find out it's repackaged Rotella.

i have nothing against walmart brand oils, i have used them in several different app's ,got a neighbor who has used them for over 15 years, with zero issues. the only issue i have with them, you got to go to walmart to get it! no going any where else to get it like you can the branded oils . .

I figure if it meets the API requirements, it'd good enough to run in my engine. Is it the best? Maybe, maybe not. I change my oil every 5K; book recommends 6K on CG oil. We're up to CI now, so I figure I am quite safe to the million mile mark.
