A funny thing happened on the way to the airport...

this just happened and I was told that they will top everyplace in a short time... ... ... anybody else hear about this.....

Yup, all the walmarts in city limits are doing this here... most have stoped gun sales, and just do ammo, but ammo is going bye bye too one store at a time.

Wal-Mart and the rest of the freaks, ie, movie stars and politicans want you to give up your guns so they can run the country without opposition. Screw Wal-Mart, I wouldn't buy a gun from them anyways and I never have. Not that I would admit to owning any guns on the internet, but if I did all of them would've come from local shops or family.

they stopped here in loserana after katrina when several walmarts got raided, not just ones in storm effected areas either that's probably the reason, wallyworld has been gun free here for over a year here, ammo and other crap is still avalable

Walmart stopped here too. I was told by a long time associate that thier were issues with employees at stores (not the local one) who were NOT doing proper background checks. Apparently, they got heavily fined and it was a corporate decision to not get into another situation and dropped sales from all stores... .

... (don't remember anything in the news about though) I'm sure the "mainstream- left- wing- media" would have reported the story up and down thier newscast if it were true

hmm, walmart still carries the bottom of the line stuff. i just went in yesterday and bought up the whole inventory of winchester AA ammo they had, luckly they mispriced them about 2 dollars lower per box. heh.

I was at the Wally World in Portage, WI on Sunday looking at guns and the clerk said that once they all sell, they're not ordering any more. I wasn't terribly surprised to hear that.

They didn't have much in . 22, so I went to Gander Mountain in Baraboo, WI and bought a slick little Marlin model 795 with a cheap scope to get rid of the barn pigeons.

Lesson recently learned: . 22 CB long rounds are VERY quiet but will NOT self-cycle a semi-auto. :)

Also - the pigeons around here must be bionic. They're tough little buggers...

Acutally, a gunsmith can weaken the spring on some semi-auto's so it will cycle CB rounds. Unfortunately, it usually makes the rifle unusable with regualar ammo.

By your posts in the political forum Hammersly, this would be a good thing to you?

especially when Bovine Escretement is being slung - and BTW - I probably have as many guns as anybody... ... . my grandfather raised me and he was a Gunsmith... ... . a real one... ... ... . He knew Charles Newton and as such I have a complete Newton collection - including a couple that he never got to market - 45 Newton and a 375 Newton... ... He also was a friend og Ruger and I have a #8 Model 1 in a 375... ... ... NEVER Been Shot - he gave me that for graduation -

They probably could not find someone to outsource their manufacture to china for them! You know walmart-If they can't get it made in china, they won't sell it long!

They still sell the guns here in Reno, but it won't surprise me if they quit. As you know, the general population can't be trusted with firearms. :rolleyes: This may belong in the political forum, but I think this country is going down the tubes, and it doesn't matter which party is in control. Too many illegals, not enough guns, the Governator giving health care to everyone while taking away support for American kids. See you all in hell; don't forget your handbasket! :{

This was a long time coming... and wouldn't you know it, once again California paved the way!! WalMarts haven't sold firearms for a few years here.

Feel sorry for you guys down in the lower 48. The wal-marts still sell them up here. Not that I would buy any of their junk. They have some ok ones but nothing great. The pistols are worth buying tho.

Bought a brick of Remington . 22 Thunderbolt from Wally World last winter. Every 10th cartridge was a misfire. All the bullets spun easily with your fingers in their shells. Terrible ammo.

the winchester xpert's are pretty good, my ruger slab side competition mkII is pretty picky and it loves them, the remington golden bullets and the cheepo federals kinda suck, combination of dirty and dud's, while my slab is picky (suprisingly it will cycle cb's and generally shoots better then i can) my mkI with it's tac-sol 10" barrel pretty much sucks up anything and puts it in a thumb sized group

WDixon27,

Very Nice Pistols!

Have you tried Aguila's Super Maximum . 22 LR round? Faster & more energy the the CCI Stinger. Accurate, cheap and either the gunpowder or primer has a neat smell. It packs a strong punch for a little . 22

haven't tried the super max's yet but the SSS's rule, 60gr subsonic and hits like a sledge hammer, popped a feral cat a while back with one from about 20' and it went through him bounced off a junk car's bumper behind him and landed on the ground next to me, it mushroomed to about the size of a dime, very cool round
