I've had a Walbro GSL pump (Glacier Diesel kit) running on my frame for about 6 years now. Never had any problems. The original one gave up this past February and I bought a replacement directly from Walbro (TI now). The replacement just failed on me this morning after only 5 months of use. I sent a note to customer service stating I purchased the pump in February and I'd like my money back please. I let them know what it was installed on.

Allen, the customer service rep was quick to respond, saying that "Thank you for writing, unfortunately the GSL392 is not meant to be used in diesel. We can not refund you due to the pump being used in application that voids the warranty."

Now, as an engineer, I got kinda torqued on the wording "meant to be used". If you can run E85, race gas, and methanol thru these pumps, you should expect diesel is the easiest and longer lasting due to its lubricity.

Truly wanting to know, I sent him a note back asking "Could you point me to any documentation that says you cannot or should not use this for diesel fuel?"

His response - " If you can show me on our website that the pump is compatible with diesel I would be happy to assist you".

Yeah... Thank you Allen Hebert. Sterling smart-a** customer service at it's finest.

Bought a Fass - probably should have done that earlier.

This premise "If you can run E85, race gas, and methanol thru these pumps, you should expect diesel" and your statement "diesel is the easiest and longer lasting due to its lubricity." are incorrect.

Regular fuel line meant for gasoline and ethanol will not hold up to diesel fuel.

That's too bad. I've had my Walbo system (purchased from Glacier Diesel Products) since 2004 or 5 and had one pump failure about 2013 or 4 and called GDP whom promptly sent a new pump (no charge BTW) to me and it has been running fine.
