Years ago, I purchased a Walbro fuel pump kit from Glacier Diesel. The first pump lasted about 150,000 miles. The second one lasted about 75,000 miles. I just installed the third one, and it lasted 10 minutes! When the first 2 pumps failed, the motors still ran, they just quit pumping. The last one ran and pumped fine. I backed the truck outside, and left it idling while I checked for leaks. The truck stalled, and the pump was not running. It had 12 volts across the terminals, but was not turning. I bench tested it. It has continuity between the terminals but won't run. Also, no spark at the terminals when I apply 12 volts, so I assume, the motor isn't locked up. Is Walbro producing low quality pumps now, or just bad luck? I don't understand why the cp3 couldn't pull fuel through the Walbro at idle, when it could when the first 2 quit. I'm back to the stock filter mount pump for now. It is working fine.
