Anyone running one? I see they only have a kit for the 2nd gen trucks, but shouldn't be too bad to adapt. My only reason for wanting to do it is I occasionally get a wiff of crankcase oil, usually when I come to a stop. I don't appear to have any leaks and everything is pretty clean under the hood... . before I saw that someone makes one for these engines I had been toying with the idea of taking an oil/air seperator of of an old Mercedes and putting it on, and I still might go that way.

RACOR CCV 4500

I JUST INSTALLED A RACOR CCV 4500 ON MY 80 MOD D150 WITH A 3. 9 BT CUMMINS ,HOSE FROM CRANKCASE BREATHER,TO FILTER TO INLET OF TURBO, OIL DRAINS BACK TO ENGINE FROM BOTTOM OF FILTER HOUSING. PARKER /RACOR MAKES LOTS OF QUALITY ITEMS FOR DIESELS ,I ALSO USE THEIR 2 MICRON FUEL FILTERS ON ALL OF MY EQUIPMENT

The thing that concerns me about an Airsept or CCV comes out of the marine diesel forums that I participate in.

Seems that many of the guys that run Cummins in boats complain that these units coat the turbo and intercoolers with an oil mist. This has exibited a noticable decrease in turbo spool up, particulary dependant upon which oil they use. The lag dissapears after the initial spool up. It also makes it important that they clean out their intercoolers periodically.

Granted marine intercoolers are "colder" since they use sea water as an exchange meduim which might cause the mist to condens on the walls.

This may not happen in our application because the environment and duty cycle are different.

It's just something that I would be interested in..... if some adds one of these devices to their rig do they notice a difference in turbo lag after a few months? Does the hose going in and out of the intercooler get coated with oily stuff?
