I installed the a Walker muffler with the 3" inlet and outlet. I don't have the model number but I believe it is the model that Joe D. used on his '97. Anyway when going down the highway around the 60mph to 65mph and adding more throttle as boost gets up to the 23psi and higher a have noticed a mid to high pitch drone noise. What I think I am hearing is the turbo pushing the exhaust through the muffler. I can let off of the throttle and the noise goes away due to the drop in boost. I was running straight exhaust and all I have done is add the muffler. Is there a science in which the muffler should be installed in a certain spot in the exhaust system? I put the muffler on to tone things down a little but this noise bothers me more than what the straight exhaust was.
