From info gotten from the Forums,I have decided I would put on a

Rhino muffler,no resonator. Been calling shops around here and they are pushing the Walker. Maybe because they have them in stock.

Another place said that just taking off the resonator and using stock muffler would be a great benefit, cheap.

Truck has 275's and an EZ,Dyno'd at 235HP so figure stock pipe with better muffler and no resonator would be enough.

Appreciate any comments

I'm not fimilar with the rhino so i will stay away from commenting on it.

the Walker is a directional muffler that has had problems in the past and DOES have restiction. check into a MagnaFlow muffler or a muffler of similar design. they have a free flowing Bidirectional design and no spot welded parts to come loose and rattle.

Rhino is a freeflow bi-directional muffler. Been on my truck a week, so I can't comment on durability. Works for me.

I ditched the stock muffler and resonator in favor of the Rhino. It's been almost 3 months since I made the switch, and I've been very happy. Can't say I've notice a sugnificant drop in EGT's, or a gain in HP and MPG's, but the switch seems to have helped a little. Good luck, -Ken

I would like to see a pic of the Rhino if anybody has one. Just curious I've never seen one. Therefore I cannot comment on the Rhino either.

As far as Walker/Dynomax goes there are a fewoptions. Walker 21468 is a 3" in/out. I assume this is the one we are talking about? I thought this muffler could be installed either way correct. You can see right though the thing.

I don't know the part numbers off the top of my head but Dynomax has a Welded Race Magnum series, very similar to the 21468 but it is smaller and therefore will be louder. Dynomax also offers a Bullet race muffler. This is very small and will be louder than the previous 2 mentioned. Dave Fritz has a bullet on his truck and he said he, nor the significant other find it to be too loud or offensive. These 2 Dynomax mufflers can be installed either way.

ok, first off us first gen guys trucks are paid for so we can afford to do stuff like this.

i went to exaust specialties in everett and we tried several different mufflers on my truck. the one that offered the most power without being TOO loud was the 'napa' straight through muffler [69. 95]. even the super duper, double throw down flowmaster made me loose 4lbs boost[he's got a really big parking lot].

the one thing you gotta watch for is the inside diamiter has to be the same all the way without anything sticking in the path of the exaust. as in smooth.

and RKOHN, it's that funny looking thingy that will always be in your way when your under your truck and seems to stay at 5000 degrees for a week.

muffler

i used a Goerlich's straight thru, bidirectional 4" muffler on my system. love it. not significantly LOUDER than OEM, but deeper tone, no drone. love the turbo sound out the pipe.
