Walnut Valley Festival - Winfield KS

This will be my first year going to this festival - anybody else going? It's where they hold national championships for guitar, banjo, fiddle, etc. Looks like fun.

I've been once or twice. Pretty neat event. Get there EARLY if you plan on camping because it fills up fast.

The main event runs Thursday - Sunday. I'm getting there Wed morning to attend an all-day flatpicking guitar workshop. I'm hoping that will improve my odds, but the winfield listserv isn't sounding very encouraging about my chances...

All the camping spots fill up in a hurry. I dont remember when they open up the gates for the campers but not long after that their usually full. I dont think there are to many other campgrounds around close. Good luck tho
