i have been reading alot but still unsure of which turbo is for me. i have the banks powerpac tlc (i know allready), built trans. i run about 32 psi now. i do mild off roading, pull a 30 foot 5ver in sand, maybe 20 times a year. should i get injectors first or replace both at the same time?

Injectors are alot cheaper than a hx40 with a 4" exhaust. Try them first and see what your egt's are and how it works for you. The 275 injectors will give you about 35-40 more hp.

i did with a friends help from a local trans shop, i bought some ats parts and saved on labor. as far as fuel goes if the ex temps are low the banks wont cut back fuel, true? if not how do i get more fuel? also i have a pnp from bd can i run this with the banks ottomind? thanks ken

The BD PnP can be run with the Ottomind, but as you said the ottomind will cut back if EGT gets too hot (not a bad thing)

Do you also have the TLC? if so, it cuts way back when the transmission shifts. Does it feel like the truck starts to nose over at each shift?

If you still want to run the Ottomind with the hight EGT cutback here is an Idea.

Remove the Banks supplied Pyro TC and install it post turbo, and only use this TC to give a signal to the Ottomind.

Then purchase a second Pyro and TC. Install this Pyro TC pre turbo and use it to monitor EGT.

What this will do is give the Ottomind a "false" reading while still allowing you to see true pre-turbo EGT.

Just something to think about.

Planning Will Save You Money...

It may save you money in the long run if you know where you want to be HP wise. If you’re needs are modest, an HX35 with 14cm housing should be ok (I have the Piers modified version). You will need to get more air through the induction system if you want larger injectors (DD2’s or more) and keep the EGT’s manageable (the HY35 won’t cut it). I am at the very limit of the HX35 but will probably stick with it. The power I now have surpasses any of my (current ;) ) needs. I haul a 4,000 lbs. camper and it handles any grade with hardly a grunt. If you want more power than what I have, then plan on an HX40 or B1.
