wanna swap 4:10s

i posted on this forum back in august about my 95 3500 dually 4x4 that my wife surprised me with. it has 35000 miles, a 5 speed, and 4:10 rear end. we do more traveling than pulling, and the high rpms eat my fuel economy. we are planning a trip to california around christmas, and i sure would like to get decent milage as well as being able to cruise at a bit higher speed. anyone out there with a 4x4 with 3:54 rear end gearing that might be interested in trading for a set of 4:10s? i would much rather buy an overdrive or 19. 5 conversion, but simply cannot afford it right now.

You are on target, go ahead and buy the gears, they will return much more than their cost in fuel mileage. Our fuel just went up to $1. 79 per gal. here in N. Florida.
