Sorry to hear about your bad luck there guys, that place is a fluke of a "Dyno Store. " Not trying to say "I told you guys so" but I gave somewhat a warning on the other thread that the dyno is an inertia dyno with 1800lb rollers which is definately not suitable at all for our trucks, which I soon learned after I got some answers out of the owner as to what was up with his dyno. I got screwed to guys, so I am in the same boat with all of you. If we are to dyno on any kind of "interia" dyno we need the rollers to be at least 5000+lbs each to get any kind of accurate ramp rate for measuring power.
That shop is basically some guy who came up with the idea of "lets buy a dyno and open up a shop without knowing anything about the dyno I am buying or dynoing vehicles period for that matter. " That company "DynoCom" is a fluke of a chassis dyno manufacturer as well since they don't even make proper dynos for diesels. Which should tell Mr. Dyno Store he has no business even owning a diesel. I couldn't believe some of the supposed factual statements that "DynoCom" would make on their site, such as "ALL CHASSIS DYNAMOMETER MANUFACTURERS CURRENTLY USE THE SAME EDDY-BRAKES (WHICH ARE THE MOST EXPENSIVE COMPONENTS IN THE SYSTEM) and "SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES FOR ACCURACY AND CONTROL ARE THE FEEDBACK CONTROL RATEs FOR THE EDDY-BRAKE POWER ABSORPTION UNIT and SPEED SENSOR RESOLUTION. DYNOCOM's FEEDBACK CONTROL RATE IS 1000 times per second AND SPEED RESOLUTION IS 100 TIMES PER REVOLUTION. THIS IS THE FASTEST IN THE INDUSTRY. " OOOOOH!! Wow, they log their dynos @ 1000Hz data save rate, which doesn't mean a damn thing but having more data to sort through when your done dynoing. Even if they were running 10Hz or even 100Hz save rates they would still get the same data, but I guess they think more of the same data is always better.
Oh well, one of these days we will hit a dyno that will give us the numbers we're looking for. What about AFE's dyno, don't they know how to dyno diesels since they have had dyno days in the past and don't they pretty much manufacture parts just for diesels??
