:D Have not posted here in a while. Anyway my transmission's going down the tubes. I talked to Dave, but he seemed to be in hurry and I didn't want to waste his time. Also I am on budget. So tell me: single disc v. s. triple disc/pros & cons. Might want to get a power chip in the future. What is the single disc like? $3100 for the transmission seems like a good price. So what has been your experiences?

I've really enjoyed mine. What year truck do you have?

I have the triple disc converter and am running 490 hp at the wheels and want a little more.

The converter depends on what plans you have for the truck. Most will say a single disc will work fine unless you are going for big hp. But Dave can give you the best answer on that. I'd send him an e-mail and ask. He won't sell you anything that you don't need.

I have a Goerend being installed as we speak. My old trans is out. Went with the triple disk and the billet input. Over $4000 with shipping. I decided on the triple because just stock with TST box I put down 425hp/800+tq. I figure with the bigger turbo and bigger injectors I might break 500. Why skimp knowing the Cummins wants to eat anything you put behind it :-laf

JOrtman, Where in Wi? I may be headed down to goerends to pick one up for a friends 98. I'm by Baraboo. Might be able to work something out.

Dave

I put in the triple disc w/o the heavy duty input shaft as Dave didn't think I'd need it since I wasn't going to drag race or be an idoiot if I got stuck (rocking and jamming), remember you get a new stock type input shaft with his tanny, just not the hd steel, I love my

Goerend and would recommend them to anybody! I run my juice on level 3 all the time and at times weigh 29,000# totalm when pulling

Thanks for the advice. Probably going to go single-disk. The way the truck is stock it has enough power for me. The way the factory trannys are set up they rob power. Peices of crap. Parts that are peices of crap anyway. It will work out and I'll be happy. If there is any other input, that would be fine.

DSeaman: Thanks for the offer, but I plan on making the trip some weekend till funds are sufficient.
