Summit is a great company to order from, after 3-4 trucks and 2 dragsters, my wife doesn't even ask " whats in the box". I order alot from the web and SUMMIT is one of the better companies to deal with. They have very good prices on exhaust systems, and gages also.

Only problem I've ever had with Summit turned out not to be a problem.

Ordered some brake rotors, got an email back saying the rotors were back ordered for 4 weeks. Luckily I hadn't gotten around to ordering them elsewhere, the rotors showed up the next day.

That's a killer price. I bought one at the start of winter last year from my son thru his repair business and his price was more than that!

By the way, it works great , plenty of cranking power, and I only have one battery.

Any problems with the smaller sizecase on the Optimas? Other than trimming the hold down bolts? It looks like the CCA is the same as stock. The reserve is a little lower. What does the lower reserve do if anything? I have been having to park in an area that I have not been able to plug in and am thinking that with 71K it may be time for a new set.

You don't HAVE to cut the holddown bolts - they come with a neat plastic cover that will snap upside down onto the battery to make a nice protective base that's about 1" thick. Makes the bolts fit just right and makes the battery(s) sit up pretty in their places.

Why would ya want a Interstate battery? I'll stick with my Deka battery. 1260cca @32F, 1000cca @0F. Who needs grid heaters with that much cca? Bill

group 31 yellow tops are also available from summit. Price = $189 each. The install was straight forward. There are a couple of plastic triangle spacers at opposite corners in the battery platter that I removed with a soldering gun and chisel. The stock battery bracket would have been a bit tight so I went with a rubber "bracket" that you can get at Pep boys. The yellow tops are recommended by optima for diesel motors as per thier website.
