i like the mopar billet grill better than the trenz grill etc. (mopar looks more refined, it has less lines) i called "mopar for less" and they gave me a part # but they were not sure that this is the grill i want, the description they gave was was for a chrome grill insert but they were not sure what this is. this is the part number they are giving. 82207849 what is this?

Catcracker the mopar accessorie you are referring to is called the chrome grill insert. It is for the SLT models. We have put on quite of few at our dealer and it looks very sharp!! Also easy to do yourself. Good luck Greg:cool:

gthessien,

is this the billet grill(chrome lines) or like the flat plates that fit in the grill? i looked on the mopar website and they show nothing. can some one come up with the part number if this is not the correct one?

Here's the info from the handy-dandy forum FAQ:

Q. I really like the "billet" grille from the Sport, but I don't want the monochrome Sport package.

A. The grille is available from Mopar, part number 82207849. It fits non-sport trucks.

(it is chromed plastic BTW, not an actual billet metal grille)

david,

thanks i read your neat faq but i must have missed it thanks.

how is this new billet installed? a pain or does it go on easy? does the entire honeycomb come off? is it one piece?

Honestly? I haven't looked. :D

I'm going to check tonight if I have time, but at this point I'm just going on the "it should work" theory. :)

David, its on the way, US Priority Mail. Have to drive about 10 miles to UPS, and everything here today is a sheet of ice, so went 1 mile to P O.

Its in 2 pieces, just remove the honeycomb, and screw on the billett inserts.

I did mine and it is easy. It takes about 15 min. The grille is held on by plastic rivets and remove quickly with a small nail set punch. The new grille installs with new rivets included in the package. It's a plastic world we live in.

Cheers Ken

Oh-hoh Dave, you might have to find some plastic rivets. I didn't install mine. When it came to the parts dept. , a friend of mine in the body shop told me to bring it over to the shop, and he would put it on for me. I saw a bag of parts, and thought they were screws. I was having coffee while he did the work.
