Hey guys I'm needing to level my truck to clear my 35s so they don't keep rubbing on bottom pushed out box part of my fender flares. Anywat I want to level it right and retain factory or BETTER ride quality while not having to spend $1,000+ for just a level. I've measured my ride height and the front is exactly 2.5" lower than the rear.

This now brings me to my question. Spacers or coils and why. Remember I want to fully retain stock ride quality or better. I do NOT want the ride to be any stiffer then stock.

I've found a couple different leveling kits on ebay as I was browsing through. Here's a link to each.

2.5" spacer kit with 5100s and sway bar relocater brackets
http://m.ebay.com/itm/2-5-DODGE-RAM...Front-Shock-/261971409809?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE

2-2.5" progressive coil spring kit with set of 4 5100s
http://m.ebay.com/itm/2-2-5-LEVELIN...00-3500-4WD-/151725837455?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE

Which of these 2 kits would be the winner and why. Also, if you guys have any other better leveling kit options thay aren't $1,000+ please post them up and link the kits to me.

Lastly on a 4th gen truck will. 2.5" kit require longer control arms and an adjustable track bar to re center the axle both fwd/rwd and side to side or do these trucks take easier to levels than my old 01 did.

Please let me know guys. Learning as I go on these 4th gens. Here's a pic of mine as it sits currently.

Coils. I believe it to be a safer, more solid set-up, and it opens you to some high quality coils, like Thuren, Carli, etc. Stick to the quality kits and I think you'll be happy. While cheaper, I'd be wary of the ebay stuff unless it's a trusted vendor with trusted kit.

Ok thanks kry. Do you have any suggestion/opinion/preferance as to which coil to go with. Again I want to stay under $1,000.

Lifting the front will move the axle closer to the rear edge of the fender-not gaining any clearance in that area with out running longer control arms. Also the ride will be altered some just by changing the angle away from being paralel with the ground albeit slight.

I have had 2 different leveling kits on my truck and both were spacers. I would have prefered coils but all the coils are too tall.

I started with a 2" level and dropped to a 1" for towing/hauling reasons. The ride change from 2" to 1" was remarkable and since the springs are the same the only difference was the control arm angle, as Bob4x4 mentioned.

If you need clearance at the firewall you need to put longer control arms on with the lift, or look for wheels with different backspacing.

Thuren coils are 2". BEST CHOICE period, ship to your door, awesome ride improvement over my stock coils and Ready Lift spacers. Add a decent shock and you'll love it.

If you want stock or better ride you will need coils and a rear mini-pack. The differences can be small but it will the difference between OK and great.

You will probably need an adjustable track bar before control arms, depending on wheels. If your current wheels are not back spaced enough then you will have to something different.

I found a spring spacer on Ebay that I installed on my 2013 the price was around $49 was simple well for me to install the ride is as close to stock as you can get...
