BOMBing 5.9 in a F-700????

Is this for real??? (Ford question)

My son wants an older one - in the 12-14,000 range. Can you find anything that is OK at that price... . or are you going to be looking forever????

I know you can find a healthy 12-valve for that price. Should be able to find one pretty easily. I got my 98 12-valve w/ 146k miles on it for $14,900. I've seen lots of them in the $12-14k range with reasonable miles. Heck, if you look it over carefully there's no reason you can't pick one up with 200k miles on it for $10k or less.

Bought my '97 in '01 for $15k @ 139k miles. Great truck. Have had to spend very little on repairs. Biggest thing was the transmission, but got replaced in Jan. '05 @ 191k miles. If I had stayed at stock power, I probably could've gotten more miles out of it, but didn't and couldn't. Slipping to bad. (Geeeeee, I wonder why? :-laf ) Even the u-joints are original, and I think even the ball joints. Will probably be replacing them soon, though. Have 203k on the clock now.
