Internet friends who live in the Sacramento, CA area recently bought a 2001 Ram 3500 HO/6 speed after asking for my advice on another website.

They are very pleased with their purchase and would now like to have a Jacobs E-brake installed.

Are there any TDR members in the Sacramento, CA area who have installed exhaust brakes and would like to earn a little extra money installing an exhaust brake for these new owners and TDR members?

If so, or if you know someone who would, please let me know and I'll pass on the information to the new owners.

Hey, that's great! They bought the best year model truck. I'm sure that if they bought the Jacob's exhaust brake and looked at the instructions, they would find that it would be an easy enough do-it-yourself install. Besides that, if they get stuck anywhere during the install, the truck would still be driveable. If they made it down to the San Jose area, I think that there are plenty of people that would lend a hand.

Thanks to each of you for your prompt replies.

The new Ram owners joined the TDR because I told them it is a great resource for Dodge-Cummins owners who want to join a group of enthusiastic owners and learn more about their truck.

I called the branch in San Leandro and was quoted something around $700 for the brake, they would not do the install on an automatic but they will on the manual. I was, however, advised to get the BD and I did.

The install for the BD is not too bad. I must admit I was worried but it worked wonderfully.

PS the ram runners are a great resource if they are inclined to come down to San Jose.

I also pm'd you,

if we could get some people together Sat. I'm sure we could do it for free, I'll be available for a few hours Sat morning. It should only take a couple hours.

Thanks for your responses. I'm forwarding them to the folks who needs the brake installed.
