I'm getting ready to order a torque converter for my truck and am looking for feedback on Goerend and ATS. I have to admit that I am leaning towards the Goerend due to warranty support that they give. I have been reading some not so good stuff about ATS and after reading their new warranty statement, I don't get warm and fuzzy's with the thought of a 5-star tq. I'm not one of those guys that thinks warranty is everything but when you hear things like that being said about Goerend, you have to take that into account. Try and give me good and bad about both brands if you can. Thanks

Dont know much about Goerend but I have 176,500 on a ATS trans. with a thriple disc converter & its as good as the day I put it in!!!!

That's good to know. I often wondered if the bad pr that I've heard about ATS has been justified or just exagerated whining. I don't own any ATS or Goerend stuff to say either way.

have a goerends triple disk for 8 months. No issues. Dave will build you a convertor to your liking. Give him a call and let him know what you are looking for or wanting in your convertor and he'll build it. Great service.

To start off, I have a Goerend tanny and could be happier with it or the service Dave offers. I live only 30 minutes from Dave's shop, so I am lucky to have such a close shop. I have spent some time in his shop and he has used my truck for some tunning on the 04. 5 and up trucks. I know that no matter what happens (or if) I have nothing to worry about, Dave will take care of it. He will also not try and over sell you on parts you won't need, if your building a everyday trailer tow-er or a all out sled puller.

Also I have talked with Clint Cannon,(ATS owner) on the phone and in person at some events that he has been to. And I really like the guy, I think that he has some very good products, a bit pricie. I think that he has received some bad PR about his trannys. Mainly (I think) because a person buying his trannys is paying top dollar for it and now a problem occurs, that person is going to let the whole world know about it. So I don't think Clint would be in the place he is by selling a bunch of junk.

So you have to decide who you feel would be best for your needs, I chose Dave because of the location, also I feel he'd do his best to take care of me down the road.

Just my 2 cents?

I've had my Goerend transmission for 40k and it has ran great. No problems at all.

You usually hear about the problems not from those whose runs good. I have read about some ATS problems with warranty claims. I'm sure there are many more happy customers that have had no problems.

But I don't think I've ever read about anyone complaining about one of Dave's transmission's, or his service after the sale.
