Im selling the 2000- 2500 and my tundra and looking to buy a 3500 6.7 equipped truck. what would be a good model year? what should I stay away from? I was thinking something with 3;73s as it will do dual duty as a driver puller. suggestions? I am fairly well schooled on the 5.9s but not the gen 4 trucks

I have read here that the 2012's are bad oil diluters. I don't know if they are differnet than the 11's and 10's for this issue.

The emissions strategy used from 2007.5 through 2012 models results in oil dilution by diesel fuel, and poor mileage in some driving conditons. I waited and was rewarded with the 2013s--mileage is back to what it used to be, pretty user-friendly emissions (just add DEF). Power is very good, etc. Also, the 13-up don't need egr maintenance unlike the earlier 6.7s.

2013+ or newer all day......these DEF trucks are fuel sippers compared to the 2007.5>>>2009 trucks and the 2010>>>2012 trucks. If you're set on 3.73's.....you'll need to be pursuing a DRW as all 2500's and 3500 SRW's will be 3.42 only.

I have checked my oil with Blackstone twice and both times the fuel dilution was less then .05%. That is the lowest number they have other than 0%. My oil level never goes up between changes.

If you can afford a 13/14 then go that route if not a late 11 HO or 12 will be fine.

I have never had an issue with my 11. 25k on it now. Oil level is always perfect. I have never ever even scene a message about anything being any percent full.

I love it. Very comfy, my wife said get the top dog, so I did.
