Warn PowerPlant™ Dual Force HD 12k winch

Does anybody out there have any experience with a Warn Powerplant HD 12k winch? I like the specs and the idea, but would like to know if anyone has any issues with them. The only drawback I can see to running this winch is the 80' of line compared to the 125' of line on the M12000. It has some other positive attributes though... such as its lighter weight and less amperage draw than the M12000.

I've had a M12000 since 1994 and had no problem with it - - not used often, but its there when I need it - - - I've also had no issue with the short cable, I carry a 3/8" proof coil chain and a HD tow strap - - have only used the strap to hook up to a tree on a derailment site when I got in trouble

I've got the smaller Powerplant on a 2003 Rubicon jeep and it kicks butt. The air portion works great and does a great job on 35" tires. I've only used the winch to help others out but it works great. Great investment.

I haven't run a Warn powerplant winch, but I did have a HS9500 that repeatedly stomped the proverbial mud hole in any non-Warn winch it competed with... regardless of the rating of the other winch. I will never buy any winch other than a Warn. You have no idea how many stuck trucks I've pulled out that had a Ramsey, Milemarker, etc and couldn't get themselves out. I wouldn't worry about the 80' of cable. I don't know how much winching you do, but most of my experience doesn't use more than 50' or so of cable and all that extra cable on the drum just decreases your pulling power. My winch came with 90' feet of cable and I very rarely needed more. My opinion is that the best thing to do is just to carry an extension cable with the rest of your recovery tools.
