Lost the center support carrier bearing yesterday at 95k. Of course this happened at 4:00 and i needed the truck today. Local parts store did not have the correct one, so i found a dealer that had one in stock. As i'm in line in the parts department, i'm reading this sign that says for best fit and dependability use genuine mopar parts blah blah blah. So i get home and go to put the carrier bearing on the support bracket (4x4) and both bolts pull the threads as i torque them. WTF never even got close to torque. Come to find out, my truck came with metric bolts and the new carrier is tapped for standard threads. I was able to clean both holes with a tap and put in correct bolts with no problems. This really pi$$ed me off, as i spent $140. 00 twice as much as the parts store wanted, and then the bolts were different. I mean, it wouldn't have bugged me to pay 70 from the parts place to have that happen being aftermarket and all. But after reading their sign about using "correct" replacement parts, i thought that sucked. The least they could have done was include the bolts.
