To those using Parker Pushlok hose/fittings:

Straight from Parker's hose info pages,

"Push-Lok is not recommended for any fuel"

I was about to purchase hose for both trucks, but not now!

Im not here to bash on business sales, but Im pretty sure this is whats being supplied in the "Walbro kits"... ... no names... .

If you use hose clamps, and not rely solely on the pinch type of clamps, I doubt there would a reason for the notice. They just wouldn't want to have one come apart and cause a fire.

I think the appropriate term for that is "Cover Your A. . " I'd bet that if they openly OK"d them for fuel use it would open them up to a whole new world of liability. Sort of like the Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump. It doesn't say it's for diesel use but there are alot of them in use without any problems. It's just that they haven't tested them for diesel use.

If this was really an issue the failure rates would be huge considering the number of members on this site alone who use them for fuel.

The Parker Pushlock stuff is FAR SUPERIOR to any of the cheap rubber hoses on these trucks from the factory, so I wouldn't worry about it.

we used parker a whole bunch for water, glycol, hot and cold. bullet proof. if the hose is rated for fuel i dont see how u could have a problem. Ever try to take one apart??? gotta cut it, just about the only way!!!!

I think he is reffering to the hose, not the fitting. If a hose isn't made specifically for fuel it can deteriorate.

I believe we all understand that. But everyones general opinion is that the whole "not for fuel" statement is nothing more than a liability release by Parker. Not that the hoses won't stand up to fuel, but they haven't tested them for fuel and don't want to be responsible if some idiot installs it wrong (rubbing issues) and causes a fire and tries to blame Parker. Sort of like the "do not iron while wearing" that is printed on certain clothing tags.
