Does the warranty cover things like frayed throttle cable, transfer pump, injection pump overflow valve especially since they are in working order? Also, since the trans cooler lines have a weak plestic link, would they replace them before they blow? Please reply as Mike is waiting for me on the 15th and I need to get these issues taken care of before that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 96 regular cab full bed auto trans 3. 50 gears All stock but NOT FOR LONG

I am not sure which or if any of those items would be covered under the engine 5yr/100K mile warranty. Since the truck is a 96 the 3yr/36K mile bumper to bumper warranty is over.

Depending on the dealer and your relationship, they may slip some of the parts in under the engine warranty (if not already covered). I think a lot of it depends on the service departments mood and how well they like you one wether or not they will replace the mentioned parts/items if they are not covered under warranty.

One other thing, if the parts have not "FAILED" it is highly unlikely they will replace they. Meaning if the part in question is still in working order and fuctioning properly there is no need to replace it. Dodge does not belive in preventative maintenance/repairs to help avoid potentially costly repairs. They wait until the part fails, falls off the truck and causes all sorts of other problems before they consider replacing something. Example: You mention concern over the plastic trans lines fittings. Everyone, including DC, knows the plastic fittings are notorious for failing and potentially destroying the trans also. However DC is not going to replace the fittings with new ones in order to AVOID POTENTIAL problems. They will wait until the inevitable problem occurs and then fix things. I think they gamble on the fact that not all plastic fittings (in this case) will fail and need to be replaced, so they end up saving a few cents.

Point being, don't get your hopes up thinking you have a vaild warranty claim on these parts just because they are know to commonly fail and need to be replaced.

1tuffram is right they won't replace if it isn't broken.
I believe all of your engine items are covered. I,m not really sure about the throttle cable though.
Transmission line connectors are not under the engine warranty. But if you have extended warranty on truck itself and if they are bad the warranty should cover them.
The warranty for 3/36 ran out. Your truck is four years old.
If you Know where your warranty book is, it tells all.

If you didn't buy the truck new, and have spent numerous thousands of dollars at your Dodge Dealer for inspections and service in their horribly expensive service department, don't expect much from DC. They've forgotten the meaning of "Ethics". They have several known and proven problems, for example the fuel sender, and not only do they not offer help, they're apparently still selling this piece of junk as a replacement ! Not interested in anything but selling new cars and trucks. If Dodge didn't have the Cummins, I'd have bought a Chevy.
