A new Rifle is on the way !!!!!!

My dealer says that if I install a K&N filter on my new Dodge that they will void the engine warranty. I

Some dealers seem to void the warranty because of the NON-Dodge (K&N) air filter and others do not.

Here is the question.

Is one dealer voids the warranty because of the airfilter, can you go to another dealer and still have the warranty, or is it "once voided, voided everywhere"?

Bob

I believe that once voided, your truck's VIN is entered into the data base, and no other dealer will touch it.

Course, you could go into arbitration (lengthly)to fight the voiding... .

I would ask to talk to the manager of the dealership and ask him. if you still get that bs take to the area manager. There has been numerous posts about this voiding warraenty for using aftermarket equipment that searching the database should give you plenty of ammo to keep your dealer straight.

My DC dealer in DE sells K&N's. Forget what those idiots say, buy a K&N and enjoy it, when the truck goes in for service for whatever reason, put the stock air filter back in, problem solved. I have the Psychotty in my truck but i keep the entire stock airbox in my crossover toolbox. If my truck ever blows up somehwere, i can put the stock airbox back in 5 minutes. Does not matter about the hole in the firewall, they cant prove i had a Psychotty, i can just say i thought about getting one and drilled the hole but never installed it. Dealers love to say they can void your warranty for that stuff, the truth is, they wont put it in writing, just like they always say you HAVE to use Mopar filters, but that is not true. They will tell you anything, they are clueless

Why butt heads with them. Put in the K& N and if you ever go back, just put the paper one back in. I would also look for another dealer anyway based on their attitude about after market parts.

My dealer told me that gages would void my warranty - Go figgure? I thought they would help you know what is going on so you won't have problems.

The only way legal way gauges will void your warranty is if you crack the manifold while installing one, and that will just be the warranty on the manifold. I've got to wonder how many people fall for and heed the dealer's warranty threats when they are in fact groundless.
