Well the dealer has to change my whole steering column,its been making a crunching and popping noise and sometimes squeaks and rattles when turning. They also are changing out the positrac because it is now a one wheel wonder. They didnt say what was wrong with it only that it was smoked:--) Parts should be in this week and will take 2 days to do. Man I wish I had my 96' back

I had my steering column changed when my truck was about 3 months old for the same clunking, popping noise you're describing. I watched the guy, and seemed to me like a lengthy process. The best part was that he forgot to disconnect the battery and he managed to set off the airbag :-laf.



As for the positrack, I've never seen that changed (as of yet).
