I jsut bought a 1998 12 valve used from a private party, do I have any warranty????

The engine is covered to 100K miles just like everyone else, but that is the only warranty that you have unless the previous owner had purchased an extended plan and transfered that plan to you.

I think the engine warranty is 5 years or 100,000 miles so it depends on when your truck was purchased it could be getting close to running out of warranty unless your over 100,000 miles.
