Fixing the AC

Silver Lake Michigan

Makes me wonder why everyone goes to a new untested, un proven engine and wonder why there are problems..... It's a ford, they say, it should be great! WRONG!!

The 5. 9 we have has been largely unchanged except for valves and injestion pumps since the 1st gen. So When someone goes after a new engine just for the Name, Thats bad. I was leary of the toyota 4. 7 V-8 but now it is proven and works good, now is the time to get that if thats what you want... . So thats why I got my 01 HO and no problems so far. (knock on wood)

Using the "D" or "C" word over always seems to light somebody up.

I never would buy anything in the first year or two after a major change. Particularly a powertrain change. Although, with Cummins, I may. They don't seem to may problems in most cases on these or other models they have.

Can't afford payments on a brand new truck anyways, so who knows.

Pan to the Fire

Fatcat your evil, those guys have enough problems. And I was getting upset over a LP, man did that forum bring some perspective to the problem.

How did that saying go "Where Quality is Job None" ?

I continue to be amazed when I read someone who is bragging about getting 10K miles on his ride with no major engine problems. Say what?? How about 200K or more with NO engine problems at all? That's in spite of replacing the plate and injectors to get more power. A few preventive measures in anticpation of things that MIGHT become a problem. KDP, fuel hoses, overflow valve. When some of them hit 200K with no engine problems then they can brag.

sometimes I think that if Ford Motor Company chromed a pile of dog do and installed it as a hood ornament, all the Ford fans would think it was beautiful and the smell was something to brag about.

over at the Ford site.

I feel awful ashamed.

They won't let me post over there anymore. Must of been something I said  Kinda feel sorry for them. I think the reason they are so touchy is that they realize they have big problems. My brother inlaw had his 02 350 4x4 crewcab psd for 1 year. Had a problem with the transmission and drove to the Dodge dealer and is now driving an 03 Dodge 4x4. Didn't realize he was that smart after he bought the Ford in the 1st place, but I guess it just takes longer for some folks to learn ;)

Who was it that said "theres a sucker born every minute?"

:D :D

Rather fitting for the Powerjoke and Maxipad owners, wouldnt you say?

Hi KeystoneKid and All,

Darn that F*rd thread makes all of you folks look like angels.

Noooo, on second thought maybe it's our trucks.

It really is amazing how many Dodge Diesels in our parking lot at work and that no major problems have been reported by any of the Dodge Diesel owners. All of us enjoy our trucks (I do occasionally get a intermittent tamper alarm, but haven't had time to take it to the dealer. Probably parked to close to one of those F*ds. )

:D
