Was The Earth Round Before Columbus?

How long did people live on the face of the Earth before someone cared enough to figure out that the Earth is round?



Is the cyber world round too?



If you look at a map or read about geography it is flat. Does that mean the Earth is literally flat?



How do you really know that the Earth is round? Sure, you've been taught it and you believe it. You've seen pictures of Earth from space, but are they real? You see the sun rise and set, but what if it's just a giant movie screen in the sky, showing the sun and the moon passing over?

Doc, to answer your question in as short a time as possible, without too much technical verbage, there are parts of the Earth which are about to become flat as hell. Afganistan, Iraq and libya come to mind, actually. Wish I could be there.

If you want to prove, or disprove your theory, why don't ya just start walkin ? If you end up in the same place ya started, you'll know it's round. Pretty simple logic, eh ?

hmmm - after thinking about it, I see your point. If I walk a-round, and end up where I started, the earth must be round.
