Nope, wont hurt anything. Many use diluted SimpleGreen. I've done it. If you have a BD exhaust brake, be sure to cover the 'sinter' on the vacuum control module before applying any wet stuff.

Simple Green is the way to do it.

I wait unitl the truck is cool, wet it down lightly, and spray on the Simple Green and let is sit for a few minutes. I'm careful to not get too close to any electrical connectors. Then spray it off. The results are excellent for ver little effort.

Any problem with using "GUNK engine brite"? i get it from work, seems to be ok on most cars, any bad things about it?
 
No problems washing engine. Just be sure to cover the filter minder on the air filter cover. It will cloud up if any cleaners get on it.
