I am researching to see if anyone else that drives the 295/395 areas of DC have any problems with their reception from time to time. I get poor or no reception in these areas during my commute. My system works great until I get within the beltway on the SE side.

Thanks

Steve

Question is your hookup using FM broadcast to get thru your radio or is it a direct hookup? If FM then perhaps there is interference on the channel you have selected.

It could be all the hills around that route. I haven't driven that way in some time so I can't really answer the question. I drive mostly in NOVA and have few problems. Is your radio a stock or aftermarket? I got the Dodge kit and have very few problems in the areas I drive.

anytime I drive around Washington DC I take the East route or straight threw where NIS is. Anyway I currently have a Sportster which transmits to the FM radio. Around Washington I find there is a station on every one of my choices for the FM transmitter.

I drive 95/295 everyday to Ft. Meade and I listen to Howard Stern every morning with no problems. I had the Sirius installed post-purchase, with my RBK radio.

FLynes, do you have to turn your FM radio to a frequency to receive your siruis, or is it hooked direct to the radio?

Folks,

Thanks for the inputs. I use the FM transmitter to get the SAT signal to my factory RAZ radio I tried a couple of FM freqs but no luck. one freq I used is 102. 1 MHz which is an actual station with broadcast on it when the truck sits in the driveway and the Sat signal comes in loud and clear over the FM received signal. The ant display on the SAT radio has a SAT and TER signal meter and I get zero strength. I'm thinking the Naval Research Lab has something running between 0530 and 0700 when I head for work because the evenings seem to have less interference

TowPro,

I have the RBK radio and had the dealer install the Mopar Sirius. All I do is switch the "mode" and I get Sirius.

Well I really think that NRL is up to some secret transmissions because so far this week my reception has been a whole lot better. Well if they are doing something that will make life easier or better for my brothers and sisters in the worlds finest canoe club then I'll deal with a little interference
