Well I had to go to Oregon over the last couple of days and on the way up my pickup would just shut off going down the road. Now this has happened before with both the fuel solenoid and the fuel filter. So I thought I would just fix it when I got there. It mostly happened when I was going fast so I thought it was just running out of fuel, but then it happened when I was going slower too. When I went to the mechanics we replaced the fuel solenoid and the fuel filter. The solenoid was probably 4-5 months old and the fuel filter had maybe 6,000 miles on it. Filter looked awsome and my solenoid looked fine , but we decided to replace it after buggering it up when we removed it. Also replaced all the connectors that go to the solenoid and the ksb I think thats what it is called. No problems on the way home. Must have got it fixed? Any ways back to the topic. I asked him to watch my pump to see if I was getting full throttle and low and behold I was only getting about 2/3. After investigating we found that my throttle petal bracket was loose I had broke the spot welds. We used rivets to make it solid on the fire wall again. We also took some slack out of the throttle cable by shimming it. Now I am getting full throttle again.
Even before it still felt strong I mean I was still getting 40 pounds of boost, but now it feels much better.
*Just a suggestion, but everyone might want to take a look at the bracket to see if it is still snug and not robbing you of full fuel.
