Went to the "other" Dodge dealer in Anchorage, which happens to be the oldest to have my DTRL turned off .I didn't have any luck at the other dealer last year. On Monday I didn't make it past the jerk writing the work order. The first three times I tried explaining nicely what needed to be done, what I had read about on this site. This guy was such a jerk I had to walk out before things turned ugly. Its pretty sad when a customer is unable to make a request, right or wrong and looked down upon. I'm willing to bet the only wrench this guy has turned is changing his own oil if that. I was hoping to finally get them turned off so I could get my headlight project started. Does anyone know if a GM dealer would be able do this for me? The only other choice I have is a road trip to Fairbanks or Soldotna, and both are 300 + miles one way.

DRBIII or maybe the high SnapOn will allow those changes. The protocol Dodge used is specific to Dodge, GM and Ford use different ones and different software. If they have a DRBIII then it should work, worth a shot to see.

I know a few years ago techauthority.com was renting out DRBs. There was a fee and they held your credit card as collateral. I never did it, but kept that in mind. In your case, might be worth a shot

I'll start calling around to see who might have a DRBIII & find out if its possible for them to do this. Thanks for the info

Give Roks diesel a call in Wasilla. I had asked him about this before, but never followed up. He spent the money for a top line Snapon unit and thought he would be able to do stuff like this. Been there a couple of times and seems like a real good shop. They are behind AIH off the Parks.

I thought about calling them. I stopped by there a few months back to see about parts for my friends truck that drove over the moose, they must have been out to lunch that day. Haven't heard much about them, its too bad our local Cummins specialist retired & moved to warmer weather. I'll give them a call, thanks for the suggestion.

I hadn't been in there since I bought my truck back in '04 when they told me they wouldn't sell me a truck below MSRP, they claimed they didn't need to since the market was so hot. I was ****** because I had bought 4 vehicle from them below MSRP prior & felt like I wasn't treated right. Diesels were selling like crazy(still are) So I ended up finding my '03 used at another dealer and haven't given them another thought. Not worth the time or trouble to make a trip to Anchorage to complain about their service dept. Still see lots of Dave Smith Motors vehicles with the bright pink licence plates running around. I'm sure that's where I'll buy my next new vehicle from.
