Competition Hopping down the track...

Off Roading Supercat: a great use for the 5.9L Cummins!

I always saw 45psi from day one, so I assumed this is what II had the wastegate set at. I've changed up my fueling quite a bit lately. Yesterday I was on the highway doing some 70-95mph runs, just to clean out the soot, ya know. . :) Anyway, I'm seeing boost slightly above 50psi and I would slowly back outta the throttle. Did it a few more times with same results. This isn't even at WOT. Am I pumping so much fuel that the wastegate can't open and get it out quick enough... ?... or something like that... ?... :-laf

maybe you did not have enough fuel to go past the 45 psi mark of boost try adjusting the wastegate down some and see if that helps.

I'm installing studs this week, so I'm not worried about hitting 50psi. Also doing a drive pressure guage setup. If I see 50 is too much I'll try backing it down some.

Thanks

Seeing the same thing with my brothers HTT HTB2/64. Put in a set of 191 Dv's and he says he is seeing 45lbs of boost compared to 40 before. Not sure if just cut DV's would do this or not but thats what the guage says. He is now studded and fire-ringed and could also use a bit more boost. Anyone know which way to turn the adjuster on the HTT turbo's for more boost? just asking before we pull it off and start guessing.

Check it with shop air! If it cracks open at around 40 using the boost elbow it's your fueling that is doing it.
