Banks exhaust brake with monster exhaust

Where is a good place to start for the wastegate setting on a set of PDR towing twins with a 35/40 hybrid small turbo. Should I just start at the normal setting of 40 lbs. That is where it runs good as a single. It is a Dodgezilla turbo with a ported 14cm housing with a modified wastegate.

Depends on what you want, does your gate open at 40 or is it full open at 40, I have no idea what that turbo is setup like! What is your goal! Odd that your mixing and matching!

how much boost are you lookin' to run?

you'll probably want it to gate a little earlier... this'll help drive the 2nd turbo and help spread the pressurization load between the two.

the objective of compound turbos is high manifold pressure without asking the turbo/turbos to operate outside of their efficiency range/ranges... this'll let them live a long healthy life and won't overheat the intake charge :D

Hey Ron what you need to do is set it at about 20 to 25 lbs for good overall performance but what you going to have to do for towing is shut the waste gate off with a solinoid valve or it won't work.

is that in order to give the quickest spoolup possible? (for towing)

I'm assuming it'll yield a lower total boost number due to the small turbine eating up exhaust energy that would otherwise drive the big turbine?

TIA,

Blair.

Could you define "won't work".

Jim. I want 50 to 55lbs of boost and around 450 hp. My truck runs a little low on the hp side so 450 is ok. Low egt is important to me. Think of the Dodgezilla as a PDR35, they are pretty close. As far as mixing and matching goes. It's what I had and I saw no reason to change. I was told a stock 35 would be ok so I figured the Dodgezilla might be better than ok.

Blair. I just finished another rifle, so now I can get a ported and o-ringed head. Now there won't be any reason for this thing not to run.
