Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) wastegate?

my wastegate does not open,my boost can go over 30. i manualy move it with a pair of visegrips,but when i put pressure to it it dont move. can i just leave it alone or am i flirting with disaster?and just watch my boost and egt?and if so what are my limits?or where can i get one?i have a#5 plate ya hoo i love it. thanks

It may be normal if you have enough fueling. When you apply air how much pressure are you applying?and do you have any leaking at the actuator?

it does not matter how much air you put to it. it just wont move,unless you do it manually by hand. thanks

Does the diaphram leak?

ok today i unhooked the air line. and i put a rubber line on the wastegate. and i put a 100 psi to it. now it moves,but it leaks air i cant tell if its the diaphram or i just dont have the line on tight. so i let the air down to about 25 and the rod still moves. but it leaks. when i first got the truck someone had a peice of a rod in the rubber line,i guess to block the wastegate off. thanks
