Watch where you place your touch-up paint!!!

So I touched up a scratch on my bumper with the Mopar Red touch-up paint. I cleaned the lid and tightened the cap. I then placed the paint in my center console. Well, the next day I begin to smell paint---CRAP! Lo and behold the stupid cap leaked in the console and had a nice pool of red paint! Well, below this pool was a nice melted hole in my console! That's right the paint melted a hole in my center console.



Lesson: Check the cap on your touch up paint!



There, I'm done. Back to work.

Same thing happened to me as far as the lid cracking.

Yep. Lacquer thinner in the paint will eat up plastic.

I did the same thing, didn't have a hole though but I did have a melted impression where the paint had spilled. I called Dodge to get a replacement insert, but the part is only sold with the console at some $600. 00 guess I will live with it.
