I was bringing a Chebby back to work today after getting it aligned and tires rotated, and was just heading out of town when I glanced into the rear-view and saw a shiny Dodge CTD sneaking up on me, with a powerjoke right behind him. As we hit the 45 mph sign, the joker throws on the blinker and goes to pass the CTD... . well, he's throwing the black smoke for all he's worth, but just can't gain on the Dodge... I'm just rolling around laughing (and being thankfull that I was 200 yds ahead so I didn't get ran over) as I watch the Dodge pull away from the furb... . these guys had 2 miles of clear road to race, and it was over at 75 mph when the ford decided to move back over cause he was 4 lengths behind.

I had a good laugh all the way to work... . made my day to watch a shiny red Dodge smoke that powerjoke from the get go... . hahahahaha :D:D:D:D:DOo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Hope you day was a hilarious as mine.

Josh.

Since I am still stock, for now, it is fun seeing things like that. The only one I saw was last summer when a Ford Lightning tried to race a 3500 at a red light. The right lane ended just past the light and the ford wanted to pass everyone. I was behind the Dodge, and when that light turned green I was lost in blk smoke. It cleared just in time for me to see the lightning a few car links behind the Dodge. Oo.

The guy in the lightning pulled off at a service staition, and I followed. I could not help myself, as I walked passed the guy I said, "betta didn't know those diesels were so fast". The guy was cool about it and started laughing say that he never thought he would see the day a diesel would beat him. He also said he was always a Dodge fan and wanted something fast so he bought a Lightning.

I wonder if he is driving a Dodge now.

I had a little fun today at a stop light. There was a new ford explorer beside me and a camaro behind me. It turned green and as I started pulling out I heard tires chirp! I don't know if it was the explorer or the camaro but as a reflex when I hear that noise I mash it! Through the gears all 3 of us were gittin it. I think I made the guy in the explorer mad when I pulled away from them so easily, but the guy in the camaro still beeped and gave me thumbs up!

I got to play with a Phord today. I was hauling 4 horses in the stock trailer. Open road and lots of room. An empty ford came up behind. As we started up a hill I put the Comp on 5x5. I rolled her up and away from that Phord as he put on his turn signal. It was real cool. I had my dad in the truck and he was laughing his butt off. This guy tried three or four times to pass. I would just smoke him(and the horses, Sorry guys) and pull up to 80 like it was nothing. I finally let him by and he couldn't believe a dodge could pull 12,000 lbs up to 80 so fast... ... . god I love this truck... ... ... ...

Great Topic!

I love those race stories :)

While waiting at the light the other day a ford rolled up next to us and turned on the intimidation measures:) You know, he was reving his motor, barking the tires, he was really getting me torqued off IYNWIM.

Well have it his way I figured, prob some gangsta rapper practicing his liquor store robbery getaway techniques. Time to entertain.

Well we waitwaitwait and then the light turns green! Both vehicles leave at the same time like they are connected to the same throttle. You could hear the higher winding V8 changing gears as we gained momentum. We are door handle to door handle forever it seems. Well, to about 80 anyway. At about this point we drop into overdrive and manually lock the torque converter clutch and she's pulling hard now. While I reach over and change tracks on the 8-track player I see the ford start to back up! Hmmmm... Maybe he forgot something back at the light (like

horsepower).

Well the upshot is that we were not racing a PSD at all. We were racing a strip rat with a pumped up 5. 0 mustang at Las Vegas. We beat him by several truck lengths, 8 miles and hour, and half a second or better.

The video is on OO's video station.

Happiness is driving along behind, seeing Stack'd 'n' Jack'd race against a Duramax dually up Jellico Mountain on I-75, and emerging from the smoke cloud to see him several lengths ahead.

:D I never get tired of seeing it. For some reason, it's hilarious. I don't really know why.

Amazing how these things can haul even with a load on them. I just returned from IN with my 30' 9500lbs tall 5er and in PA there are some serious hills, blew the doors off a Power Choker up hill doing 75-80mph and he was only towing a pop upOo. Oo. It was funny seeing this guy's face expression, he wasn't happy. I only have the 275's and comp was only on 1x3:cool:

The thing people like to do around here is, let you go to the passing lane (on a two lane road) then hold you there. (sometimes this gets interesting)

This happened once or twice with my truck(stock :( )

but I had fun with my last car.

I used to let them think they were holding me there, drive along side of them for a few hundred feet to get their attention. When I did, I'd politely wave Bye- bye,(sometimes I'd first look at my watch) then proceed to pass them as if they were standing still :D.

This was in my Grand National. I miss that car, and look forward to when the Dodge could do this. :D

I love reading all these stories. To date I have not had the opportunity to race anyone, until last saturday. Here I am all dressed up to attend a wedding with my wife in the truck. I stop at a red light and from my rear view mirror I can see a dura maxipad approaching. I never looked at him, but knew he was going to nail it on the green. I was not gonna lose so I nailed it too. Right off the line I pulled ahead and by 80mph I was 2 truck lengths ahead. Darn that felt good!!! He turned off with his tail between his legs. The really good part is that I have many more bombing parts to put on to make it even faster and my wife liked it too. Keep the stories coming...

My favorite way is stay behind the perp until you think he is almost topped out, then pull beside, slowly, like you JUST HAVE ENOUGH TO GET THAT FAR!

Keep dead even for abit, then just mash it on down. Goodbye, and goodnight!:D Oo.

Well, today I was cruising windows down (beautiful day) not paying much attention when I realized that the two lane road was about to become one. I checked my mirrors and spotted a Camaro flying up on my right real fast trying to get in front of me. I would guesstimate his speed as at least 65, and mine was about 35. I was barely tapping the go peddle, so turbo took a sec to spool. He didn't make it passed me... :D Could he of? Oh sure he was going much faster than me and by the time I hit the go peddle he was already at my rear bumper... . Did I mention it was a Beautiful day??? Yes he had his Window down, and thanks to Scott at MASSDIESEL and the angle of my tail pipe, I was able to fill his car with DEEP DARK DIESEL SMOKE... :-laf :-laf :-laf

so by the time the truck started to get up and go, he had already applied his brakes..... So today I SMOKED a Camaro...

Darren,

We are all so very proud of you. I smoked a Powerjoke today twice. The third light he pulled into the center divider to avoid the smoke. I set it on 2x1 and pulled off very slowly. Wait, wait wait 5x5 he is on my bumper and boom... ... . Smoke:D I love this truck...

Everyday I drive down Memorial Drive in Cambridge (runs along the Charles river), and being warm, the sites were abundant. Sitting first at the stop light, a Putz in a BMW rolls up next to me and gooses the engine. I looked at him an laughed, which really seemed to tick him off. Well, as I was taking in the sites of the student bodies, the light turns green and he takes off like a shot, screaming tires and all... Too bad he didn't look BEHIND him, because there was a Statie sitting right there. I waved and laughed as I passed him while he was pulled over getting a ticket.

Kind of reminds me of the two bull on top of the hill...

Great Thread

Here at home, we have a primary road that leaves the city in two lanes, but merges traffic into the right lane directly after a stop light (within about 1/8 mile). Typically, most decent folk pull to the right lane to start with and take their cue if they are stopped by the light (as I do), but inevitably the occasional smart--- pulls up and wants to get in front of you, only to stop traffic by trying to make a left at the next road. There's always a supply of fresh "meat" for the killing at this intersection...

The other day I pulled up to the intersection after just having my truck washed, so traction was a bit of a problem. This kid pulls up to my left in a tricked out Honda and starts racing the engine... The comp box went up to 4x5. We both take off at green, but i had to be a little gentle with it to maintain traction so he got me just right off the line, but I quickly gained. All I can say is that you should have seen his eyes when when the boost hit 30 at about 25 MPH and the back tires broke loose right next to his window (I'm sure the water helped a little). Needless to say, I had him by many truck lengths before he had to merge, and I grinned all the way home.

Have you ever had two lanes of traffic just stay at the light and wait for the cloud to clear? It was like they were afraid to drive through it... . Between my buddy’s F350 turbo idi and my dodge we seem to make a 4 lane highway just disappear. (PS he never wins but bless his heart for trying :p )

I love reading this stuff. When you put a dozer engine in a light duty pickup truck, well, the force usually ends up being with you. :p if you know what I mean. While not exactly the same, I always get a kick out of having to slow down on a big or long grade because I've got a rice burner in front of me not wanting to exceed 70 or move over. This is with my TT strapped to the hitch. I saw a lot of that on my last trip. What sucks is slowing down and having to downshift.

Im so glad this thread is open.

This is no BS.

Just had one with a "Banks Turbo" emblem under the F250 badge give me "the eye" at the light the other day.

I had just pulled out of the bank (thinkin 'bout money) not really in race mode, and motor's not back up to temp yet, when this guy (looked like brutus from popeye) tellin his partner riding shotgun something like... watch me smoke this dodge. That was obvious by the sudden attention span of "Wimpy" :p

While I thought long & hard (about 1/2 second), if I wanted to give this guy a run w/ a cool motor (stressing a head gasket). Decided a 2nd gear start was in order.

Light turned green... Ford died. So I waited for him to re-fire. . It made that long rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... . rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... rrrrrrrrrrrrrr that they make when theyre waiting for some action. It started and I waited for him to hit it. . He did & he was off & I couldnt miss the big puff come out of that big 5" chrome endpeice. . I fed some clutch to the transmission & was on my way to him. His ford flat died in the middle of the street, & had to roll off to the side. He was back there smoking as I could see him turning the key.

Guess ol "Wimpy" probably wasnt too impressed with the 'ol POWERRRR STROKE it.
