Just purchased my new truck and I have not filled up the tank yet- came full. I am having trouble reaching the yellow lever on the fuel filter to drain off water- bad back problems. Does anyone know of an extension for this lever to make it easier to get to?

Thanks in advance. :)

Sorry Jack but I don't think anyone has such a device. Anything attached to the lever might make it rotate going down the road.

Maybe you could drill a hole in it and grab it with a stick fashioned with a hook in the end? Fortunately you don't normally have to drain it between filter changes (unless you get a lousy batch of fuel).

I agree with Prairie Dog. I wouldn't't worry about draining it. In all the ones I have since my first in 91 I have never got any water out of it so I quit draining it a long time ago. I drain it when I change fuel filter for me every 10000.
