water drain

several times I have tried to drain the water from the filter

on my 03,,Imove the black lever on the front side of the filter housing 45 Deg. to the stop but NOTHING comes out no fuel no water no nothing. . the end of the drain hose is clear

the book says engine off when you drain so What Gives?

there is a tsb out for this problem.

i believe you should try opening it then turning the key, bit not starting it. check the tsb listing here:

This happened to me as well. I tried to drain the filter before replacing it but nothing would come out. After replacing it and turning on the key to prime the system, I tried again and fluid drained out (with the key off of course).

The problem is they used a thick white grease to seal the drain. DC found out that the grease wasn't breaking down by the diesel fuel. If you open the drain valve then turn the key to cycle the pump once or twice for a very short time, you will see a white glob shot out the the fuel will flow.

I did this and it worked fine. The next time I went to drain any water out it was blocked again. It take several times I guess. .
