This can't be a good thing. Not that it rains all that much here in So Cal, it has been for three days now. I got in this morning, rounded the corned and water poured out of the overhead console- it had puddled up in the garage door compartment. Oddly enough the headliner appears dry for the amount of water that came out. I am assuming that it is from on of the roof cab lights, but could it be coming from the front or rear window?? Also how do you get the OH console out?

I had the same problem

The dealership sealed up the cab marker light above the console, on mine the water was in the light lences and driped on my arm when leaving for work. It never hurt the head liner, and I don't think that it could come from any other place and not get the headliner wet.

another heads-up from my camper sealing experience-- take those marker lites off the roof and goober the silicone around the bottom of 'em before you put them back on.

A bead around the edge of them won't last a year... .

Hey Dog mine did the same thing, water coming in cab by overhead console. I found out how the water gets in. Remove center roof marker lite and look at the little clear plastic washers under screw heads that hold lite to cab. One or both of the washers might be cracked. If they are the water is wicking down the screws into the cab. You can't buy just the plastic washers from dealer you have to buy complete roof maker lamp. It comes with new lite, gasket to cab and two new screws and the plastic washers to seal screw heads. Part number for one roof marker lamp from Dodge dealer is 55077067AA. It costs $16. 00 and is the new style lite from '98 trucks and up made by hella. If you want to do the job right and not hack it up with silicone do it this way. Or you could find some material to use to put under the screw heads to replace the plastic ones to save money, but look at the plastic washers under screw heads I bet one or both are cracked. Also if you get new lite don't tighten them to tight or they might crack agian. The torque spec. for the marker lite to cab screws from Dodge service manual is 13 in. pounds. Hope this helps you out.

Still raining like crazy, stuffed a rag up there for now:{ .

Do you think I can get away with putting RTV silicone on the screws and wire grommet before putting them back?? I think it should do the trick.

Heyy, #2DSL,

Did DC originally install gaskets at the marker lenses? My '99 has leaked since day one. No dealer help. They could not duplicate with hose water, but overnight rains always leave water in O/H console.

I disassembled lamp from cab roof, but no gasket on any of 'em.

Just checked my service manual, and no gasket is indicated in the service illustration.

This happened to me on a rainy day. A fuse blew due to short circut killing the onboard computer. I limped it to the dealer and they sealed the cab roof lights under warranty. It showed NO BUS where the odometer is. No spedometer or Tach.

There should be a gray foam like gasket glued to the under side of the marker lite itself. It covers the whole under side of lite to seal cab sheet metal.
