Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission problem

Guys I got a Camper that the water heater want come on. I installed a

new circuit board thinking that was the problem no help.

Next thing would be the gas valve but is there any thing else I am

missing? It is a Atwood G6A-7E.

Thanks. :{

Can you hear the igniter popping?

After mine set up for about 4 months there were spider webs shorting out the igniter. Even a small amount of condensation will short out the igniter. Also there might be air in the gas lines and it takes a long time to purge the air through the small pilot light jet. Is the 110 volt side working O. K. ?

Make sure it has water in it first.

Tell me what it is doing or not doing.

Disconnect all the electrical connections , one at a time , put dielectric grease on each & reconnect , this should be done to avoid problems .
If it still does not work , have a 2nd person work the switch while you listen/watch for the igniter , but also the gas valves [ dielectric grease these also ] they will click if they are working .
Look to see if there is metal shaped like a J coming off of 2 white porcelain insulators , the electrodes should have the ends of the J-s facing each other , thats where you should see spark .

Webs

I had a spider web in the gas feed tube once. It wouldn't ignite 'til I figured out the webs were in there and cleaned them out. They can be kinda hard to see. Bruce

Skydiver there is no clicking at valve when you flip the igniter switch on the

light on switch stays on and doesn't go out like it should when lighting.

Thanks

Also I am getting fire in and out of circuit board also greased the connections and purged gas line going to gas valve.

Ok,There should be a wire coming from bottom of igniter generator control box that has the switch on it going to the pilot light. Pull this wire off and try to start it. You should hear the electricity arcing. This will tell you if your generator is "making power". Make sure there is no raw gas around.

If it is "making power" then there is something grounding the current before it makes it to the pilot light.

The clicking will not be heard at the "gas valve" but at the igniter control box next to the gas valve.

What are the DC volts feeding the water heater at the igniter?Should be 12. 5 - 12. 6 with the battery charger off.

Is the 110 volt heating system on the water heater working?

Also you should be able to start the pilot using only a butane lighter while pushing down on the valve handle. This will tell you if the gas valve is working. I have had to do this when everything was wet from condensation.

Skyjacker I am new at this so bare with me This is gas only Direct spark ignition don't think it has a 110 side if so just to the converter and it is working

because we used the furnace and Ac off the 110 side.

Sorry for the delay but computer has been down.

Thanks

The furnace is 12v also , about the only thing that runs exclusively off 120 is AC & Micro wave , get a 12v test light and check for power to gas valves , did you look to see if there was spark at the end of the electrodes at the burner ?
I am trying to remember , there should be something like a thermocouple that senses heat from the flame [ if after a set time , and no heat , it shuts of gas ] sometimes if the air mixer gets rusty / bumps , it may keep the gas from lighting .

I just wanted to thank all of you who tried to help me on this problem.

We had pulled the fuses and checked visually 3 times and looked fine

but camper Tech tested with a gauge it was a blown fuse.

I sure will remember this as a $65. 00 lesson. :{ :-laf
